Fonteblanda is a hamlet of the town of Orbetello. The town lies at the foot of the Poggio Talamonaccio.
The village was founded in the ancient Etruscan period as a port of Telamon, in fact, were found several artifacts dating back to the second century AD and a necropolis always in the same period.
According to popular tradition, the name derives from Fonteblanda a source of fresh water, just “bland”, near the old route of the Aurelia, according to some scholars, instead it would be the correction of Fontebranda ancient name known.
